This is the website of
TiaraRebel Bullmastiffs, owned by Darrell & Robyn Armstrong in South
East Queensland. We have owned Bullmastiffs since 1995 and have come to love
and adore the breed.
Darrell
learnt about the Bullmastiff from dog books that he read throughout his
childhood and wanted to own one for many years. In 1994 after seeing
Bullmastiffs road tested on a lifestyle program,
we
contacted the Secretary of the Bullmastiff Club in Victoria where we were
living at the time and attended a local show.
After that, we made serious efforts to
find a breeder who would entrust us with one of their puppies.
First we got
Karla, a stunning red bitch, then along came Bronson an awesome fawn dog,
you can find out more about them on this site and the rest, (as 'they' say), is history!
We never bred from them due to the lack of space and facilities where we
lived at the time plus various health issues that they both suffered,
probably due to our lack of knowledge and experience with the breed.
Years later after suffering the
loss of Karla then not long after, Bronson we decided to look for another
Bullmastiff. In 2003 we obtained our foundation bitch, a brindle girl
with the most amazing outgoing temperament you could ever want in a
Bullmastiff. She had a lot we could improve on but we wanted her mostly for
her colour and bloodlines. Our foundation dog came to us mid-2003 he was the
reddest of red and thanks to Baron
we have the best Bullmastiff heads we could ever wish for.
An important thing that someone
told us was not to double up on faults, I guess reading the Bullmastiff
Breed Standard and becoming familiar with that was a lesson well learnt.
In 2005 our first litter was
born - wow what an exciting time that was!! Stressful when they were being
born but so amazing and exciting watching them grow and develop; then total
and complete sadness sending them off to their new forever homes! An
exciting event from this litter was Asta who was our first ever export to
Sweden! We will forever be grateful for the opportunity and developed a
wonderful friendship. We were blessed with owners from all over the country.
I won't go into the details of
the other litters as you can see them on the Litters Pages. With each litter
born we have learnt something new and its incredible to see them grow,
develop, make their owners happy and appreciative that they were born! Some
people even came back for a second pup from the next litter! Its wonderful
to catch up with them again, months or years later and we can always pick up
on their little quirks and
idiosyncrasies
from their parents and grandparents.
Many
people say Bullmastiff's are very "moreish", once you have one you need
more. We have found that statement to be so true, one Bullmastiff just
doesn't seem to be enough!!! That must be how we ended up with seven dogs as
I write this!
We
hope you enjoy your visit and learn about our much adored Bullmastiffs. If
you have any questions about our dogs or the breed in general, please don't
hesitate to email us!
