Once
in a while there is a special Bullmastiff who comes into your life and
means the world to you; they are your protector and best friend. When
they are gone the hurt and pain lingers on and they are missed every
single day. Suede was our special girl who we brought into the world and
sadly she was taken from us too soon at just 4 years.
Suede
(aka Soodee or Tootie) is our special addition from our first litter.
When she was a very young pup, I would sit outside and watch the puppies
from her litter and Suede would climb up on my back to get my attention
then sit on my lap while we watched her siblings play and frolic.
S he
was shown a few times and mostly beaten by her sister Ava. Unfortunately
she wasn’t very keen on going to shows so we decided to leave her at
home.
Suede is the sweetest girl,
extremely affectionate and smoochie. When cuddling with her if you start
laughing cause she licks so much... she licks you even more and you have
to be careful that you're mouth isn't open! When she would sit on the
couch with us at night to watch TV she would put one paw on our shoulder
and pull us in to cuddle her! She is so sweet!
Suede loves having a good
time and a laugh. She is an excellent guard dog and has passed on this
quality to her kids. When relaxing - she can be found by the window
watching the world go by; or sunning herself in the yard; chasing
lizards and frogs or singing with her family members.
In May 2007 she naturally
whelped her first litter of 11 babies. Then in November 2008 she had her
second litter of 9 babies which she also naturally whelped, (with 100%
survival rate). Suede has proven to be a most devoted and protective
'Earth Mother‛. We are sure she has been reading the ‚text books‛ in her
spare time!
Suede was laid to rest in
April 2009 after suffering with an illness for a short time, we will
miss her forever! Rest In Peace our precious girl.
